You are a great protector, Siha. But some things are beyond even you.

----------------------

While I respect BioWare's decision about Thane's fate - we all knew he was going to die at some point (though I personally would've preferred there was an option to save him, but whatever) - I was heartbroken over the treatment of his character in ME3. It was really obvious that the ME team forgot about him. After he died, no one else talked about him, not even Garrus who was standing in front of the memorial wall. Not only that, Garrus sent a message over the ME3 Datapad (if you've got an iPad) later on telling you "Glad we didn't have to add a name to this wall, Shepard. Thanks for coming by." WHAT. THE. FUCK. THANE JUST DIED! His name was just added to the wall! Come on BioWare, Thane was your poster boy in ME2 and you forgot all about him?! Fix this. Please. And while you're at it, fix his characterisation and dialogue when he's romanced. The Thane we see in ME3, the one who is at peace and is ready to die, makes sense if he's not romanced. But if romanced? Watch this scene again. It might jog your memory.

Sorry about the rant but Thane was such an awesome character in ME2 so to have been forgotten in ME3 is just heartbreaking. And infuriating.

I wished they would have had Shepard do this when he died if you romanced him instead of just walking out of the room. You listed off everything I hated about Thane's death in ME. Not that it happened (though yes, an option to save would have been great), but the dismissive attitude everyone had, especially if Shepard romanced him. And now even the new DLC which is advertising rekindle romances, can't begin until after Thane dies. I definitely needed some Thane love, and you're art is satiating some of my frustrations with Bioware. It's all so very well done too. Continue on, someone needs to remember Thane.

Have you seen the Citadel DLC? Although there are still a lot of issues regarding the treatment of Thane in ME3 I thought what BioWare did in the dlc helped addressed a few of those. Made me cry too. Finally, some closure.

They do address him in the DLC? I haven't played it yet. I was a little too annoyed when I found out that it couldn't be started till after his death. If they finally address it, then I'll have to get it soon. Thanks for the info. (btw, still love your work  )

Thanks! Well *I* found some closure, but there are still some Thane fans who weren't happy at all with what BioWare did in the dlc. The thing is, if all someone wants is additional Thane content from the dlc then it might not probably be worth buying. However if, like me, you want additional content for the other characters as well then this is the one dlc worth getting in my opinion. If you're the former I suggest you just watch it on Youtube - here's a Shrios version if you're curious :XD:

I finally played Citadel. Very fun, and you're right, I at least feel like I got closure from it. Totally made me cry.

The conversation with ghost Thane at the end put me over the edge. It made me wish they'd have given me a two second image of Shep or Thane on a beach after the end. Heck, I'd have been happy with just a glimpse of an empty shoreline. Still, it was hilarious to play the whole DLC and the memorial was perfect. Thanks for telling me they gave closure. :)

I've (unhappily) accepted that I don't get to play with him, but if they at least address it I'll be happy. And I'll keep the link for once I've finished. ;) Thanks.
